Task Progress

Module Briefing & Group Formation - Week 1
At the start of the week, we were instructed to form a team made up of members from different specializations, with no more than two people from the same field in one group. During the first week, our group was established and we set up shared working documents. We selected our project topic and created a FigJam board to help structure our research, ideas, and discussions.

Group Members:
1. Mah Sze Min (0367020) - GD
2. Nicco Chew Jin Xun (0366563) - GD
3. Racheal Tan Tze Rou (0381005) - UI/UX
4. Wong Mei Yee (0367857) - UI/UX
5. Wang Jinyi (0374697) - ED
6. Yang Yilun (0375973) - ED

Initial Research - Week 2

In Week 2, after our initial meeting with Dr. Wong, we were encouraged to first develop a solid foundational understanding of the topic, the client, and the overall problem space, instead of rushing into detailed solutions. Our main focus was to carry out preliminary research to build a clearer understanding of heat stress, outdoor work environments, and the specific issues faced by our client. This process allowed us to align as a team and develop a common foundation of knowledge before progressing to user research. At the same time, we began brainstorming and preparing potential interview questions in preparation for Week 3.

User Research - Week 3
During Week 3, we focused on shaping our early user personas and narrowing down the problem scope to a more specific focus on the relationship between heat stress and mental health. We identified key user groups which are police officers, construction workers, and delivery drivers. We then worked on completing detailed user personas by the end of the week (10/10).

Field Observation - Week 4
We conducted user interviews in conjunction with field observations to gain a deeper understanding of the experiences of outdoor workers. By observing them in real working environments, we were able to better understand how heat influences their daily activities, decision-making processes, and physical stamina. Using insights gathered from interview transcripts and on-site observations, we further refined our user personas and developed empathy maps to clearly represent users’ needs, pain points, and behavioral patterns.
