Project 2A: Lalin Edits
For this project, Mr. Martin provided us with a set of
supporting clips and a storyboard, and our task was to compile
everything together using Adobe Premiere Pro. We had to arrange
the footage, add in text graphics, transitions, and background
music to complete the video. It wasn’t just about learning the
software, it was also about training our skills for visuals and
timing. I think this exercise really helped me get more
comfortable with Premiere Pro and understand how creative
choices like music or text placement can change the whole feel
of a video. It also felt like a good warm-up for bigger projects
coming up later in the course.

Observations
Looking back at Task 2, this project was definitely one of the more exciting ones for me. From planning and shooting to editing the final trailer, I got to explore both the pre-production and post-production sides of filmmaking. I had fun during the shoot with my group, but what really stood out for me was the editing part. I spent quite a bit of time learning about colour grading and testing out different looks. Some worked, some didn’t, but it was a good kind of trial and error. I also learned how much of a difference timing and pacing make; even a small shift in where you cut a clip could change the whole feel of the scene. It made me appreciate how detailed editing work can be.

Experience
Filming together as a team showed me how important communication and teamwork really are. Not everything went smoothly especially during our time in the studio but we managed to figure things out with patience and flexibility. It was fun brainstorming ideas and giving each other feedback while shooting. Sometimes we had to retake scenes again and again, but everyone stayed supportive and focused, which made the whole process a lot more enjoyable. I think working closely like that helped us understand each other better and made the final result stronger.

Findings
What I took away from this task goes beyond just technical skills. Yes, I became more confident with editing software and got a better feel for visual storytelling, but I also learned a lot about managing creative work with others. From dealing with unexpected issues to making shared decisions, I realized how crucial collaboration is in this kind of project. I’m proud of what we made together, and now I feel more ready and honestly more excited to take on future projects that are even more complex. It showed me that with the right team and mindset, even the stressful parts can become meaningful learning moments.
