Reflection
Throughout my Digital Photography and Imaging course, I've gained a range of skills that have deepened my understanding and confidence in using Adobe Photoshop. I started with basic techniques, such as creating physical and digital collages, which taught me to think creatively about composition and layering.
Learning how to recolor black-and-white photos was particularly impactful, as it showed me how to bring life to vintage images and explore the relationship between color, emotion, and storytelling. Adjusting layers and using filters opened up endless possibilities for transforming images, and I enjoyed experimenting with these tools to see how subtle changes could create dramatic effects.
A standout project was creating the Heart Mansion in Shazam, which challenged me to integrate visual elements in unique ways, blending fantasy with technique. I also learned how to place myself in the heart mansion, a skill that taught me precise selection, masking, and blending to create realistic composites.
Overall, this course has expanded my creative toolkit and given me valuable Photoshop skills that I’m excited to use in future projects.
